Since 1989, Maria Droste Counseling Center has provided high quality mental health care to all, regardless of ability to pay. To bridge the gap between Coloradans in need of help and access to mental health services, we work with our Integrated Care partners to bring exceptional mental health services to places people already go for care: pediatric offices, schools, senior housing, affordable housing, and domestic violence shelters.

We know that healing DOES happen.  Check out our Partners in Healing mini-series to learn more about those who help make healing possible.

Rounding out our ‘Partners in Healing’ miniseries, Maria Droste would like to recognize another critical Partner in Healing organization, Kavod Senior Life. Kavod is an exemplar organization for making mental health more accessible to seniors in our community whose mental health needs are not often recognized. Many seniors can relate to facing extreme feelings of loss, grief and loneliness. Understandably so, the demand for mental health services among the senior community is very real. Maria Droste works with Kavod care providers to meet this need and ensure that seniors have the resources to navigate these difficult circumstances with a compassionate mental health professional – even if that resource begins with a simple open-door, and a listening ear. A therapist onsite at the Kavod Senior Life facilities removes circumstances of  trouble with mobility and scheduling transportation. Maria Droste therapists bring the care – quite literally – to the residents’ doorstep. Seniors engaging with onsite Maria Droste therapists have shown positive results related to mood and in some cases, increased activity and mobility in the Kavod community.

A critical Partner in Healing to Maria Droste Counseling Center is Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics. For over 20 years, RMYC has shared in the belief that people need access to care, regardless of ability to pay. To partner with an organization as dedicated to serving community members in need as Maria Droste fuels this team to our shared goal of making exceptional services accessible and affordable to Coloradans in need through Integrated Care solutions. Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics’ medical providers work alongside Maria Droste counselors and other healthcare providers, such as dentists, to ensure RMYC patients have the wrap-around healthcare resources available to live their most healthy life.

Mercy Housing has been a critical Partner in Healing to bridge the gap between Coloradans in need, and accessible mental health services. Maria Droste Therapists are onsite in 5 Mercy Housing facilities throughout the Denver area. Having a therapist onsite at these affordable housing locations removes barriers such as transportation and possible stigma of visiting a traditional mental health center. Removing these barriers enables those in need to receive care they may otherwise be unable to get. In 2017, we demonstrated at the gala that healing DOES happen. 2018 will highlight our Partners in Healing who help make healing possible.
