Our Values

At Maria Droste, we have created a community of individuals with shared values to materialize our vision of providing all Coloradans in need access to mental health services. We look for candidates who value community, diversity, and being in service to our mission. Additionally, we prioritize candidates who are passionate about social justice and actively challenge racist and oppressive methods of practice.

Who We Are

The team at Maria Droste Counseling Center consists of individuals from various walks of life. We have a unique model of service that prioritizes trauma-informed training of the next generation of clinicians. Many of our interns have gone on to begin careers with Maria Droste and spearhead many of our programs. These individuals then supervise new interns once licensed, continuing the cycle of supportive mentorship. Learn more about our clinical training programs.

At Maria Droste, we are passionate about reducing barriers to care. To make counseling more accessible for Coloradans, we have integrated mental healthcare into various settings including family justice centers, k-12 schools, and primary care locations. This model permits clients to get support with less barriers related to transportation, childcare, scheduling, and stigma.

Our primary motive is making mental healthcare affordable. That’s why we have sliding scale options and most of our clinicians accept Medicaid. We also have a Survivor’s Mental Health Program (SMHP) that utilizes grant funding to provide therapy to survivors of trauma.
