How Outpatient Counseling Works

- Connect With MDCC
Clients can reach out directly or be referred to MDCC by another provider, school, community organization, or other source. - Talk With Our Access Team
Our Access Coordinator connects with each client to learn more about their background, currneeds, preferences, insurance, and what they’re looking for in care. - Find the Right Fit
Based on client preferences, clinical needs, and provider availability, our team works to connect each person with an appropriate clinician. - Make Care Affordable
MDCC works with insurance when applicable and can complete a financial needs assessment to determine eligibility for sliding-scale options and other support. - Continue Care Based on Your Needs
Once connected, clients work with their clinician on individualized goals and ongoing care, without a set MDCC limit on the number of therapy sessions.
Current Insurance Accepted: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Cigna, Kaiser Permanente, Health First Colorado (Medicaid), and United Healthcare (UHC).
Care Designed Around Each Client
Outpatient counseling gives clients a consistent space to work through mental health concerns, relationships, life experiences, and transitions with the support of a trained clinician. Care is individualized around each person’s goals and can evolve as their needs change, including ASAM Level 1.0 outpatient services for individuals with substance use concerns.
In 2025, nearly 89% of outpatient services were individual therapy, reflecting the strong need for personalized, one-on-one mental health support.
